General
What is Zenus Banking Pro?
Zenus Banking Pro is cloud core banking software for microfinance institutions, cooperatives, thrift collectors and fintech lenders in Nigeria. It covers customers, tellers, savings and deposit products, loans, transfers, the general ledger, reports, alerts and an Android app for field officers, with maker-checker controls and a full audit trail.
Who owns our data?
Your institution does. It sits in a database used only by you, and you can request a full export at any time, including on exit.
What happens when the internet goes down?
Postings already made are safe. Tellers resume when the connection returns; a retried submission is recognised and never posted twice. Field batches are captured on the phone and submitted for approval when there is signal.
Who can see our data?
Only your staff, according to the permissions your administrator sets. Our support engineers access an institution's database only for a support request you have raised, and every such access is logged.
Do we need any hardware?
A laptop or desktop with a modern browser per counter, an Android phone per field officer and an internet connection. A receipt printer is optional.
Can we host it ourselves?
A self-hosted licence is available on request for institutions whose policy requires it.
Security
How are backups handled?
Automatically, daily, to a separate location. Restores are performed by us on request.
Is there maker-checker?
Yes. Loans, journals, expenses, transfer batches, field batches, account openings and large deposits all require approval by an officer other than the one who raised them, on the web and in the mobile app.
Can a teller post into last month?
Only if the administrator has opened a backdating window covering that date, and never into a closed period. Nothing can ever be future-dated.
Pricing
How much does Zenus Banking Pro cost?
Plans start at ₦30,000 per month for a single-branch institution, ₦50,000 for multi-branch with the field app, and ₦80,000 for enterprise. There is a one-off implementation fee that covers setup, migration of customers with balances, training and go-live support. Annual billing gives two months free.
What does the implementation fee cover?
Provisioning your institution, branding, chart of accounts and product setup, staff logins and roles, migration of customers with opening balances, role-based training, the parallel run and two weeks of hyper-care after go-live.
Is there a free trial?
A 14-day sandbox loaded with sample data is provided free before you commit, with no card required.
Can we start with one branch and add more?
Yes. Upgrade the plan or add branches at any time; the change is pro-rated.
Are SMS alerts included?
Alert delivery is charged at provider cost from a prepaid wallet you top up. You can recover the charge from the customer's account at a rate you set.
Implementation
How long does implementation take?
One week for a standard implementation: provisioning and configuration on day one, data migration, training, a parallel run and go-live by day five, then two weeks of hyper-care. Large migrations are scoped after a short data assessment.
Can you migrate our data from our current system?
Yes. Customers with opening balances are included in every implementation. Full ledger, loan and transaction history can be migrated from Excel or directly from your previous system's database and is quoted after a short data assessment.
Do you train our staff?
Yes. Role-based training for tellers, field officers, credit officers, finance and administrators is included, on-site in Lagos or online elsewhere, with a general session after go-live.
