Digital Field Application

Collections in the market, approved at the branch

An Android app for field officers and marketers: customer search, balance and ledger enquiry, field deposits and withdrawals, transfer batches, journals and approvals, all submitted for supervisor approval.

Cash collected in the market used to live in a notebook until someone posted it hours later. With the Zenus field app, the officer records the collection on the phone, the batch waits for a supervisor to approve, and the customer's balance updates the same day.

The app uses the same login, permissions and maker-checker rules as the web. Every submission carries an idempotency key, so a retried request on a weak signal cannot post twice, and deactivating the officer on the web revokes the app instantly.

What it does

  • Dashboard with the officer's own figures and pending approvals
  • Customer search, balance and ledger enquiry
  • Field deposits and withdrawals captured as batches for approval
  • Multi-credit and multi-debit batches and journals on the move
  • Approve or reject expenses and loans from the phone
  • Idempotent submissions and same-day duplicate detection
  • Instant revocation when a staff member is deactivated

How it works

  1. 1

The officer logs in with their normal staff account.

  2. 2

Collections are keyed against the customer in the field.

  3. 3

The batch is submitted for approval when there is signal.

  4. 4

A supervisor approves and the balances update.
